First and foremost, let me start off by saying that at first I was rather skeptical about launching this campaign on Adcash. I’ve tried this traffic source many years ago, when I was just starting out my affiliate marketing journey, and had very little success with it. This campaign shows that it was mainly due to my lack of experience. I am very impressed with this traffic source and urge everyone to try it.
Even with a proven offer and landing page combo, launching a campaign on a new traffic source would not normally generate a positive ROI right off the bat. That wasn’t the case with this one. Their CPA Goal algorithm seems to work fantastic, driving positive ROI from day one with little to no optimization.
In this comprehensive AdCash case study, you will find all details about the campaign: exact offer, optimized landing page, zones as well as exact traffic source and tracker settings used.
For the past few months, Germany has been showing good performance in the sweepstakes vertical, so I’ve decided to try and scale my campaigns to different traffic sources using the same proven landing page and recommended offer, knowing that if new campaign doesn’t work, its not because of a dud offer or a bad lander.
Nice thing about Germany is that their SOI (Single Opt In) offers tend to have higher payouts. The offer of choice was the Amazon Sweepstake Lead Generation offer available on ClickDealer. Same advertiser has a plethora of other variations that include different merchants and stores, which in my opinion generate an even higher ROI most of the time, but that’s something I will leave up to you to test and cash in on! Offer accepts both mobile and web traffic.
Here is what offer page looks like:
If you don’t have time to browse through ClickDealer, trying to find exact same offer (Who does really?), here is the exact offer name that was used in this campaign, as well as other variations from the same advertiser (Available to our Premium Members Only):
If for whatever reason you cannot find this offer on ClickDealer platform, make sure to get a hold of your ClickDealer rep and ask about it. Some offers are private and a simple inquiry might grant you access to it.
The landing page I chose for this campaign has been a solid performer for me for months. It is optimized for both mobile and desktop. This style has been around spy tools for ages now, and for a good reason. It works. It’s a simple 4 part questionnaire designed to mimic a well known interface. I’ve included both, a logo and a non-logo version available for download. A non-logo version was used in this campaign, but feel free to read up on the creatives policy on AdCash or any other traffic source you are going to advertise on to see if you can use a logo version for some additional profits. Also make sure to read rules and regulations on the offer page when it comes to using this kind of creative. If in doubt, talk to your account manager.
As always, premium members can download both cleaned up “no-logo” variation of this landing page here:
To use, simply replace “www.trackinglink.com” with your tracking link and upload it on your server.
Traffic Source and Tracker Settings
Campaign setup process was pretty straightforward. For beginners, I would recommend starting with a funnel containing multiple offers to test (2 to 3), but since I know exactly which landing page works for this vertical and have a pretty trustworthy relationship with my Account Manager at ClickDealer, I opted for just using a single offer that I was told had good recent conversion rate.
Tracker Settings. This is important. In order to automatically track click costs, you need to ensure that [redirection_cost] token in included in your Campaign URL, the campaigns bid model is set to CPC and Auto Box is checked off. In theory, in order to update costs, you could just cross reference daily spend in AdCash reports interface and update costs in your tracker manually, but due to the nature of CPA Goal bidding model, where the system will bid differently on each zone, unless you update each zone’s cost separately it will not be accurate.
Traffic Source settings. This may seem complicated at first, but once you play around with it, it is relatively easy to setup. I’ve included all screenshots, indicating exact campaign settings.
Click on “Create Campaign” – “Advanced Campaign” (Or Express)
Name your campaign and select location, which in this case would obviously be “Germany”. Click Next.
For targeting, de-select all sources, except for AdCash. Uncheck “Allow traffic from new supply sources” field. Click Next.
Set browser language as “German” and device type as “Desktop”. I find that for sweepstakes, I get much higher ROI when a language native to the country I advertise in is set. Again, this is something you should try and test for yourself to see if it makes a difference.
In Creatives tab, select Pop-under Web for your creative and insert your Campaign URL from Binom.
In Budget Tab, select your bid model as CPA target. I used a CPA Target goal of 2.60 which is about 40 cents below of what the offer payout is. It seems to have worked for me, but then again, this should be something you can test for yourself.
Make sure to set your daily budget, that you are comfortable with. For this campaign I started off with $50 per day, slowly increasing it very few days. You can do the same.
Click “Create Campaign” and it will be submitted for validation. It might take anywhere from 1-6 hours to have it validated. You will get an email once it is up and running.
As you can see, although overall profitable, this initial campaign still had a couple of negative ROI days, which shows the importance of following through and not pausing campaigns early.
Now, if you are really looking for a shortcut without doing any leg work, feel free to sign up for the Premium Member Access and get a list of zones that converted in this particular campaign. This way you can launch this campaign only on zones that have converted, getting even higher returns on your ad spend right off the bat.
The hardest part of starting with affiliate marketing was not knowing how and where to start. There is simply too much information out there, half of which is outdated, and the other half is a straight up scam. I wish someone disclosed an entire campaign that includes all settings, offers and landing pages when I was just starting out. If you are one of the first people to come across this case study you can literally just copy this entire campaign as is and start seeing results immediately.
After creating this initial campaign you have a number of scaling options. You could take the list of zones I’ve provided and run a “whitelist only” campaign. (I’ve tested it and the ROI is much higher). You could use the same zones to launch campaigns in other GEOs using other funnels. (Yeap, same zones work for other GEOs as well). You could copy the campaign and run it on mobile traffic. Options are unlimited.
Now get to work!
